Systems used for clamping parts on machine tools

Workpieces usually must be clamped on the machine tool with the aid of a system that heavily depends on the chosen process.

As explained in corresponding sections, when production and reproducibility requirements are high the complete fixturing system is composed by the Fixture itself and a Pallet. Whereas, when requirements are lower the fixture is directly clamped to machine tool's table. Various of these systems can be seen in the example images.

Regardless of production requirements, fixing workpieces in the correct position and orientation is always challenging, and must be carefully done and measures taken, as further explained in its corresponding section.

In the summary, conclusions derived based on all this information are presented.
