DESCRIPTION:The Pacific region has become a manufacturing hub for opti
 cal components and optoelectronics. These optical devices are widely u
 sed in various consumer and scientific products\, instruments and ligh
 ting systems. The first Asia Pacific Conference on Optics Manufacture 
 2007 (APCOM 2007) has been successfully held in Hong Kong. It gathered
  more than 200attendees. The papers has been published in 2 special vo
 lumes of “Advances in Optics Design and Precision Manufacturing Tech
 nologies” The second APCOM will be held on 11st -14th February\, 200
 9 in Taipei. APCOM 2009 aims to provide an exciting platform for the i
 nternational exchange of latest research findings and developments in 
 the area of optical design\, advanced optics manufacturing technology 
 and optical measurement. It also intends to promote the sharing of ide
 as and emerging technologies\, as well as to foster R&D collaboration 
 amongst academics\, research institutions and the relevant industries.
